BSC Newsletter
Volume 1, Issue 4
Bruce J. Cochrane, President

Once again, I must apologize for the length of time that has passed since the last newsletter, but once again travel and vacation distracted me.  It did, however, afford me the opportunity to spend a day with our laboratory manager Chad Fagan and our treasurer Brendan Boyce in the BSC laboratory in Rochester.  I left with a much greater appreciation for the work Chad does in certifying stains, as well as a better understanding of the finances of the BSC from my conversation with Brendan.

Annual Meeting

As of now, the tentative schedule of talks for our annual scientific symposium is available on the meeting announcement.  Please take a look at it and consider attending the meeting – you can register here.   Also, please share information about the meeting with colleagues who might be interested in attending. We will soon have a brochure ready that you can distribute to others.  And of course poster submissions are most welcome.  It is now possible for people unable to attend the meeting but wishing to present can do so; they just need to indicate that they are not attending and provide the name of who will be in attendance and presenting for them.

Website Redesign

Our partners at Mason Digital have been working diligently to migrate content to the new site and deal with various design issues.  We are still aiming for a rollout of the new site in early August; stay tuned for details in the next newsletter.

Laboratory

The BSC Laboratory  is in the process of moving from its current location in the basement of the University of Rochester to a new space on the first floor of the same building.   While in transition, there may be some delay in the processing of new samples submitted for certification, but as always we will do our best to prioritize the BSC Assay Laboratory testing.  Thank you for your patience while this is taking place.
