Solutions to Stained Section Photos
A. IMAGE 1. Gomori's Trichrome Stain on a section of bowel.
B. IMAGE 2. Sudan IV on skin.
C. IMAGE 3. Sudan IV staining of a section of fatty liver.
D. IMAGE 4. Endospore staining of Bacillus cereus. Notice the green spores stained by Malachite Green.
E. IMAGE 5. Amyloid Stain. A section of kidney stained with Crystal Violet.
F. IMAGE 6. Gram Stain. Crystal Violet and Safranin O used to demonstrate gram + and gram - organisms.
G. IMAGE 7. Nissl Stain. A section of spinal cord stained with Cresyl Violet Acetate.
H. IMAGE 8. Altmann's Stain for Mitochondria. The section is Kidney tissue and the Altmann's method uses Methyl Green and Acid Fuchsine.
